2. History

Tencent is founded by Ma Huateng, Zhang Zhidong, Xu Chenye, Chen Yidan, and Zeng Liquing on 11th November 1998. Initially, Tencent was incorporated in the Cayman Islands and initially funded by venture capitalists.

Tencent's very first product was QQ which earlier in the launched named OICQ. With the lawsuit for the brand came from AOL, Tencent changed the product's name to QQ. Tencent is currently traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the code of 700 and Tencent released many products focusing the revamping the user experience and the user journey in many ways.
