New Property Types

Airbnb introduces 4 Property types that people can use to reserve on the move to places to the existing accommodation options, shared space, private room, entire home. Vacation home, Unique Space, B&B, and Boutique are the newest addition of accommodation types to the options that people can choose in.

New Tiers

Airbnb introduces new tiers which will be helpful for guests to recognize hosts where Airbnb personally checks and verify the hosts and their comfort levels.

Airbnb Plus Tier - Currently there are 2000 homes in 13 cities in Airbnb which are inspected over 100 points of checklist to ensure the cleanness, comfort, design, hospitality, well equipped, well maintained and many more to give an outstanding experience to the guests who is using Airbnb to choose their accommodation. Hosts can be eligible to get entitled to Airbnb Plus by

1. having a minimum of one stay of guests.
2. Being on top with an average rating of 4.8+ stars.
3. Accept 95% of reservations from the guests.
4. Having no last-minute cancellations for the past year.
5. Hosting an entire home or a private room with a private bathroom.

There will be an additional fee for hosts which is $149 USD which will cover the verification with the interior design consultation program. Guests will be able to reserve an Airbnb Plus home for an average price of 250USD per night.


Airbnb Luxury Tier - Airbnb introduces luxury tier, which will be available sooner with world-class hospitality for with superior quality and guaranteed accommodation for the guests who's willing to choose their accommodation via Airbnb.




Airbnb was initially designed to solo travelers and backpackers who needed the primary requirement of bed and breakfast for their stay at the location, Airbnb is wanted to acquire the customers from the different market segmentation by providing accommodation solutions to Families, and wide range of scope in their service. That's the main reason that Airbnb initiated New Tiers and collections with more features that will be loved by the guests.


There will be more competition for the accommodation channels like booking.com and Agoda with these new initiatives and the hosts who only use Agoda and booking.com to sell their accommodation locations.
