Qualcomm is a Mobile chipset manufacturing company based in the USA and having a presence around the world. Qualcomm is founded by Irwin Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi, Franklin Antonio, Adelia Coffman, Andrew Cohen, Klein Gilhousen, and Harvey White on July 1st, 1985.

Qualcomm is headquartered in San Diego, California, United States of America. The organization's name formed up by taking multiple letters in two words which were "Quality Communications". In the initial stage, the organization started for contract research and development center for government and defense projects.

In 1988, Qualcomm got merged with Omninet in 1988 and was able to raise 3.5 Million USD as funding to develop a satellite communications system for trucking companies.
