1. What is Dropbox?

Dropbox is a file hosting and sharing platform which is hosted in the cloud and enables users to upload, share, and access the files in the Dropbox platform. Dropbox does have web app, mobile apps, and a downloadable app to the laptop or desktop computer.

Dropbox is used by a wide range of individuals and corporate companies to organize, share, and backup files. Dropbox does offer individual plans and team plans which suits almost all types of companies.

2. History

Dropbox initially founded by Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi in June 2007. The initial idea for Dropbox ignited to Drew Houston who forgot to take his USB flash drive to his university which was MIT for academic-related tasks repeatedly on multiple instances. In the initial stage, he developed it to be more personalized which only could cater to his requirement, and later with Arash they started developing a solid platform that could also solve others problems too.

Dropbox is currently traded publicly on NASDAQ stock exchange under the stock code of DBX and currently headquartered in San Fransisco, California, USA.
