China Unicom is a state-owned telecommunications operator of China which also the world's fourth-largest mobile service provider by the subscriber base.

2. History

China Unicom is founded by the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Electronics Industry, and the Ministry of Electric Power Industry in China on 18th June 1994.

China Unicom started as a wireless paging and GSM mobile operator. Currently, China Unicom is serving nationwide for GSM mobile network, long-distance, local calling, data communication, internet service, and IP telephony also known as IP calling.

China Unicom is publicly traded in the Shanghai Stock Exchange under the code of 600050 Hong Kong Stock Exchange under 762 code.
