China Eastern Airlines is one of the major airlines in the People Republic of China which operates flights to multiple destinations domestic and international routes. China Eastern Airlines operates flights with a fleet of 540 aircraft and the majority of the aircraft are manufactured by Boeing and the rest is by Airbus.

China Eastern Airlines is the second-largest airliner in China which provides transportation to passengers by the statistics. China Eastern operates cargo division to local and global destinations around the world. China Eastern Airlines is a member of the SkyTeam alliance program.

2. History

China Eastern Airlines was founded on 1st July 1988 as a result of the Chinese government's decision to decentralize the Civil Aviation Administration of China which is also known as CAAC. With the decentralization, CAAC was separated into three entities which are named as Air China, China Southern Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines which manages different parts of China and international flights.

China Eastern Airlines is owned by China Eastern Air Holding Company and China Eastern Airlines is currently headquartered in Shanghai, China.
