2. History

Booking.com is a subsidiary brand owned by Booking Holdings. Booking.com is a merger of two companies which was booking.nl founded by Geert-Jan Bruinsma in 1996 and Bookings Online which was founded by  Sicco, Alec Behrens, Marjin Muyser and Bas Lemmens.

Both companies merged together in the year 2000 to operate as Bookings.org. Which later changed the domain to booking.com. Booking.com/ Booking Holdings is currently headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
