History

Alcatel Mobile Phones is formed as a joint venture between Alcatel-Lucent and TCL Corporation in April 2004. As per the partnership Alcatel-Lucent owns 45% and TCL Corporation owns 55% of the venture shares.

In 2005 the joint venture got dissolve and TCL Corporation acquired the share owned by Alcatel-Lucent and made it a fully own subsidiary of TCL. Alcatel is currently headquartered in Nanterre, France.
