NVIDIA is to take Big leap in UK history and the AI history with King's College London. In the collaboration with King's College London and with the collaboration of NVIDIA hardware components and the AI platform, NVIDIA plans to energize the NHS which is the UK's National Health Service.
The intention of the project is to train the NVIDIA AI platform to automate the most time-consuming cycle in the radiology interpretation. NVIDIA initiated the partnership to collaborate with King's London Medical Imaging & AI Center for value-based healthcare to 12 clinical pathways in oncology, cardiology, and neurology to improve diagnoses and patient care in the NHS.
The project will help to identify patterns and to make leads in the breakthroughs in classifying stroke and neurological impairments and ultimately detect the underlying causes of cancers and recommending the best treatments for patients.
NVIDIA will implement the system named NVIDIA DGX-2 systems which do contain 2 petaflops of GPU powered supercomputers for AI Research with the NVIDIA Clara AI Toolkit as the initial phase of the project.
For the first time in history, NHS will apply federated learning to algorithm development to ensure the privacy of patient's data in the process of computing and result publishing. As the UK's largest healthcare provider, NHS will use AI models and distributed methodologies to keep up the reputation for patient privacy.
NVIDIA engineers and researchers from King's College London and medical professionals will join with the project to train computers to find better recovery options and root cause analysis for the patients who are suffering from cancers. In the long term, the research will help to predict and avoid people getting into medical situations including strokes, cancer, and a wide range of health problems.
