1. What is Renault?

Renault is a European Automobile manufacture that manufactures a range of automobile products. Renault's product line includes sedans, coupes, hatchbacks, SUVs, and Vans in major. Renault automobiles are powered using internal combustion engines and fully electrified vehicles category.

Renault does a range of research and development for the technology and Renault is one of the leading European automobile manufacturers which invests in research and development. Renault vehicles are sold in Europe, Asia, and other regions of the world.

2. History

Renault started as a family business with the corporation of the brothers in the family. Renault sold their first car in Renault Voiturette 1CV on 24th December 1898. Renault was incorporated and founded by Louis Renault, Marcel Renault, and Fernand Renault on 25th February 1899.

Like all the other early starters of the automobile industry, Renault also had to go through the world war period where it was bad for the company. Renault started manufacturing and developing semi-trucks and heavy-duty commercial vehicles and later it was sold to Volvo. Renault acquired 43.4% voting shares of Nissan and 1.55% of Daimler AG.

Renault is currently traded publicly on Euronext Stock Exchange and currently headquartered in Boulogne Billancourt, France.
